Dear Prolife
and Christian Friends:
Beginning this morning Sohlnet and
Sacramento Teens for Life sponsored two “truth trucks” that bear the
images of dead babies that have been destroyed in the cruelest and
gruesome manner in local abortion clinics like our own Planned Parenthood
here in Roseville at 729 Sunrise Blvd. These trucks are on the streets of
Roseville and surrounding areas.
Some
of you out there are angry with us and some of you are hearing from your
good Christian friends, decrying the use of these pictures in public.
“These pictures are hurting little children who are not ready to see
them.” Some are calling Bud’s church and are angry, thinking that the
church is sponsoring the trucks. Let’s make it clear right now, if you
are angry, call me at our office at (916) 481-8926. We are solely
responsible for the use of the trucks, not my church. We probably can’t
handle all the calls live but promise to respond to all who leave us a
name and number.
For
Christians, or for responses to your Christian friends, who are upset with
the use of the trucks I will appeal to you not by emotion, but first by
scripture, followed by logic and discussion that merely emotional
reactions do not traverse.
“Have nothing to do
with the fruitless deeds of darkness, rather expose them.” Eph. 5:11
Before going there though let me ask you this?
Is the display of the pictures of abortion
more evil and more harmful than the actual abortions taking place in our
city and across the nation totaling 4000 times daily since l973?
If you were convinced
that showing the pictures on the truck would save just one baby’s life in
Roseville, would you rather save that baby’s life or get rid of the
trucks? I held one of those
babies in my arms at my church last Sunday. Gavin was saved because the
hard to look at pictures were being displayed by a few Christians on a
public sidewalk near an abortion clinic. I can personally testify to
dozens of babies saved in our area because we showed the evidence, a
picture, of what Planned Parenthood tells your sons and daughters is not
life, rather a “product of conception.” Across America, little groups of
Christian prolifers are using the trucks and hand held signs to expose the
real truth about child killing and thousands of babies are being saved
every year.
Is there any evidence
that young children viewing the pictures are emotionally harmed?
I am aware of not one study that has
found this to be true. I have displayed the large pictures on the lawn of
the State Capitol, and driven trucks with the pictures around the
country. I have NEVER seen a small child get upset with the pictures. It
is usually when mom or dad start yelling or crying, that the little guy or
gal, sensing the emotion, also becomes upset. Large groups of kids from K
on up walk by our displays at the Capitol, not displaying any evidence of
being upset. They are curious. “What is that mom?” A good mom will say
that it is a picture of a baby that was not loved and it was not allowed
to live. The people showing the pictures want to help stop the people
from hurting more babies.”
If in
fact the pictures displayed in public were harmful to children, not only
would there be laws against it, there would be lawsuits across the country
bringing civil suits against us. I know of no such cases and there are no
laws that I know of that prevent such displays.
However: If some
children do have bad dreams or some emotional reaction to the pictures
should the prevention of this possible trauma by not publicly using the
pictures outweigh using the best evidence available?
This
evidence will save babies from death, not trauma, and will change hearts
and minds to end this insanity. Remember, our media will not show the
truth about abortion. The media does a great job of passing on the lies
and deceptions of “Planned Parenthood.” In the days of Jim Crow laws and
the racist cruelty and discrimination perpetrated against our African
American brothers and sisters, it was the media pictures of Blacks being
hanged, hosed, and attached by dogs that changed the hearts and minds of
America. The truth is, unless we use the public square, the truth will
stay in the darkness because most of America will do little or nothing to
end the abortion genocide. The Press Tribune just refused to carry our
paid ($1,200.00) full page ad, not because of a graphic picture, but
because we wanted to tell people that “Planned Parenthood is killing
unborn children in Roseville.” You see good people; the enemy wants to
keep the real ugly truth about child killing in our communities locked in
the dark. As Christians we are commanded in the New Testament to expose
this evil. The Apostle Paul tells us in Eph. 5:11
“Have nothing to do
with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is
shameful event to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But
everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that
makes everything visible.”
Note
there is a two fold responsibility in this scripture. One, don’t you get
involved in these dark deeds. Two, expose them. How do we best do this
in a culture that is accepting of these dark deeds, and a media that will
not expose them? We do what has always been done to expose injustice to
people. Some argue that we should only show these pictures at the abortion
clinics. We disagree. We show the evidence to the world, not just to
those who are involved in the darkness. I had no personal involvement in
racial discrimination or hatred. My heart and mind were rent to speak up
when the television and the newspapers gave me pictures of the truth,
breaking my heart for these unfortunate people. Our pictures serve to not
only inform, they break the hearts of those who have never given the issue
much thought, let alone Christian action. Fortunately, this abortion
issue is still being debated because at least some small groups of
Christians across the country are telling the truth through the use of our
last resort, the public sidewalks and streets of America.
Our
displays on the trucks will save babies, change hearts and minds, and
upset some. For the latter, we are sorry. Like Ezekiel, the very
controversial Prophet of God, we believe we have been given clear
instruction from the Lord to confront this greatest evil of our age.
The
word of the Lord came to me.
“Son of man, will you
judge her? Will you judge this city of bloodshed? Then confront her
with all her detestable practices and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign
Lord says: O city that brings on herself doom by shedding blood in her
midst and defiles herself by making idols, you have become guilty because
of the blood you have shed….” Ezek 22: 1-4)
Our
city, Roseville, sheds innocent blood. We are confronting this sin in a
bold way that not everyone will agree with, but we strongly feel we are
being obedient to God. We will continue to do our very best to be humble
and loving, but the silence must end. We covet your prayers and hope this
will help you to understand why we use the truck and pictures.
